Home Safe and Pressies Too.

 This is my first sight of my little one for 3 months, the nice looking young man is a friend of my sons who was on the same train

   

Glad to be home after travelling in Asia. She went to Thailand, Singapore, North and South Vietnam, Malaysia  and Bali. What it is to be young and confident not to mention able to put up with less than comfortable accommodation.

After a good meal and some bubbly it was pressie time.

Dad loves Tin Tin and apparently so do the Vietnamese. This plaque is going on the wall by his desk.

Brother gets a new t-shirt and a bundle of different chopsticks which he is very pleased with.

I collect cocktails stirrers and have  done for years, luckily they don't take up much room.  These are my newest additions from a variety of clubs across Asia including one from a "lady boy" club.

My favourite has to be my beautiful, custom made dressing gown.  I am apparently a "normal woman "size, which is nice to know as it fits perfectly. The dress that little one had made is lovely. 

Eldest daughter comes home for a few days tomorrow so I will have all my broad around me again all be it just for a few days.

Thank you for your concern over my fall at the weekend, my right hip is the most beautiful shade of purple but other than that I have no after effects.

I'm off to chat to some more now, well we do have 3 months of gossip to catch up on.

Patchwork Lanyard

Hope you have all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. I'm  feeling a bit battered, bruised and very silly. Mr T and I decided to make the most of the weather and go for a bike ride, you can see it coming can't you, yes I fell off.  I was a good girl and had my crash hat on so at least I didn't damaged my head but can't say the same for my right leg and hip. Mind you if I'm sore now I just know it's going to be worse tomorrow.  So how did I managed to fall, well I have clips on my pedals that my shoes fit into which I'm not used to and when I stopped I forgot to unclip my shoes and over I went.  Feeling very silly.

Never mind, I've got plenty of sewing to do.  Like so many of us now I have to wear a name badge for work and made myself a lanyard to put it on so I didn't lose it or forget it.  I also made one for my friend Loopy Lou as a little thank you pressie  and didn't think any more of it for a couple of days until Lou rang and said start making more everyone wants one.

This lot have all been sold.

Each one is different with different embellishments and I'm having great fun making them.

 The next lot is well under way and I've put a couple on my Folksy site as well which has had a makeover and been relaunched.  

Well back to my sewing.

A busy Week

I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted but it's been one of those weeks. You know the ones when you just don't have time to think,  I was even working on Mother's day.  Watching all these lucky ladies spending the day having afternoon tea in the big house was very hard to deal with let me tell you, BUT I had my Mother's day on Saturday.  As both my girls are miles away from home at the moment it was left to surfer boy to look after Mum which he and his girlfriend (not forgetting Mr.T) did very well.

There was a vintage lovers fair at the "Dragon Hall" in Norwich so we were going there but got distracted on the way.  It turns out that my favourite Antiques emporium has a Flea Market upstairs on Saturdays, well it would be silly not to have a look  wouldn't it.

So much choice, where do you start.

Rupert was one of my favourites as a child. I probably had some of these.

Then it was off to the Cathedral for Lunch.

 Tombland and the Cathedral close is a beautiful part of Norwich, with some fantastic old buildings.
The house outside the arch really is that crooked.

This one is so sweet and looks even smaller tacked onto the church  like that.

It was great to spend a day with my son, as he lives close by I tend to just see him for an hour here and there but don't spend along time together.

The long Road

I know I've done quite a few posts about flowers recently but I love spring flowers and I've waited a year to show you these pictures.
There's a country lane a couple of miles out of town which runs past a lovely old country house and at some stage the owners must have decided to make the lane more interesting by planting a few of these.

Swaps and Makes

Well my wonderful morning turned into a wonderful day .

The  fabric I won in a giveaway from Traci at Handmadehappiness arrived in the post.

Don't you love those colours. Thank you Traci.

Then , on my way to have coffee with my friend Loopylou, I had to pick a parcel up from the post office. It was very difficult to wait until I got to  lou's house  before  opening it hence no before pictures-too impatient.  It was my Spring swap from Ali-at Magic making hands.

Well that's just what she has(sorry bad pun)

anyway, I just love these tiny flowers as did lou.

There is nothing like buttons, I just have to play with them with lots of oh's and ha's. These were at the bottom of the pretty box it all come in along with the chocolate mini eggs which of course didn't last long enough to be photographed.

These colours are positively delicious, reminds me of sherbet space ships from when I was a kid.

This has made it to my car keys.

Lots of lovely lace, I like the way it is wrapped around the pegs, I'm going to get more pegs and do this with all my lace.

Lou and I had great fun unwrapping all this, especially Lou as she is just about to start blogging and this has given her more enthusiasm.  All this excitement was watched by Fat Cat (real name Cleo) who was totally unimpressed.  The crochet cotton in the corner of the picture is a tiny part of a job lot Lou got at an Auction in the most beautiful autumn colours, loads of  it.

I've had a busy sewing month, although I'm not very happy with one make but still---

The first thing has to be Stanley of course using the pattern from Annie at Felt Fairy.

Mr T loves him so he has a permanent place in the lounge.

This is what i'm not that happy with. It is supposed to be part of the Charlie Harper quilt along (my first ) organised by Flaming stitches but plan A went horribly wrong, so I reverted to plan b and did it by needle felting.

I think there might have to be a plan c.

Any way here are some of the other thing I have made this month.

My first crochet cushion.

American style lunch bags made with oilcloth. Mine is the one with the houses, the other one is for Little one when she gets home from her travels.

The pegs are from Muddy puddle crafts.

 A little zipped bag for new great Niece/ nephew. 

 and a summer shoulder bag for me.
