Sunny Hunny

We went from the North of Norfolk over to the West today to have lunch with the in-laws .
We went to Hunstanton for a coffee before lunch and found there was a festival of some sort going on.

Sunny Hunny has got  lovely gardens

and an usual lifeboat which my son was very impressed with.

Then on the pier gardens there were dozens of VW vans lined up which impressed Mr T.

Then on the prom were BMX stunt bikes

and a climbing wall.

Apparently Hunstanton is ideal for kite surfing and windsurfing.

and they were out in vast numbers.

Then further along you could just make out the fairground.

I love these cliffs They remind me of coconut ice.

And the rock pools are great when the tides out.

But it was a very short stop

Then  it was past the lavender fields for a Sunday lunch in the village pub before the rain came.

Giveaways and awards

If You haven't found them yet there are 2 giveaways going. One with the lovely Sue @ home

And the other from Gill at Gillyflower

Needless to say I've entered both.

Sue @ home has also given me an award which is great. I love Sue's blog  so if you don't know it go and have a look. Now apparently I have to pass this on to 3 blogs who have under 100 followers so

These are three ladies that I feel I've known for years even though we've never met.

Have a great Friday and hope for Sunshine as I've got a busy weekend.

Machine embroidery Workshop

Lowestoft is a place I have driven through on my way to somewhere else but have never stopped.
That changed today as my destination was to Patch fabrics  in Lowestoft Town centre, owned by the lovely Claire, to attend one of the workshops that she has arranged.

Before even going upstairs to the workshop I knew my purse was in trouble as Claires shop is fabric addicts dream.

Anyway up the stairs to meet Alex Waylett, Textile artist and our teacher for the day.

This is what we are aspiring to, (Yeh in our dreams)
A couple of examples of Alex's work.
The purses she does are fantastic and she does workshops in those as well
so I will look out for one of those.

So we stated playing by varying our satin stitches and just getting used to moving our work about.

Then we started with layering.
Layer 1-interfacing
2-fabric
3-little scraps
4-layer of net

Then we put into practice the satin stitches in contrasting threads.

Tidy it up  before cutting it up to make in to cards.

This is one of mine.

We were a mixed bunch but all had a great time.

I think they all turned out fantastically.

The rest of the day was spent with the darning foot on and the feed dogs dropped, learning how to control the speed and creating stitches such as vermicelli and granite.

Here's how mine turned out.

But this is how I want it to look eventually.

The word practice springs to mind.

Hope you have all enjoyed your day and speak soon.

At Last

Over the last few weeks I have been read several incidences of people having problems with Blogger and I've thought "I've never had any problems". It never pays to be too cocky does it. The resounding thing being heard in my house this week has been me shouting "Bloody Blogger".  Yesterday it wouldn't even let me log in.   But Hey! at last it looks like things are working OK today.
So in Celebration lets have a wander around my garden to make up for missing a couple of weekly plants, which I'm sure you have all missed terribly, and to start the week on a bright note.

I'm off to Lowestoft this week for a Machine embroidery workshop at Patch Fabrics so I will let you know how it went later in the week.

Have a great week.
