Unexpected find.

Is it too late to wish you all a Happy New Year?
Happy New Year anyway!

I seem to have lost my blogging Mojo recently,
I haven't even been taking many photos so I'm making a
concerted effort to remedy that.

Some photos I have taken were in an old cottage
we went to recently.

I opened the airing cupboard and there was the old
wallpaper from when the room was obviously
a nursery.

I remember having a similar type of wall paper
in my room as a child but mine had donkeys on.
The Rabbit smoking a pipe rather dates it,
I think this must go back to the 50's.

Wouldn't you just love to have some fabric with this
pattern on.
It is such shame that when the cottage is eventually
renovated that this will disappear but at least I have
the photos even if they aren't the best photos in the world.

Anyway hopefully I will get myself up and running again soon
and write more often.

Have a great week.

Tilly's New Venture

Now this is something I don't usually do
but today I'm making an exception.

What am I doing?
Well I'm doing a promotion…
a very special one for my lovely friend
and fellow blogger

TILLY ROSE

I met Tilly a few years ago at  bloggers meet up
in Peterborough and we hit it off straight away.

She has a wonderful enthusiasm for all things vintage
and her handcrafted items are beautiful as well as inspirational.

Well Tilly has now put all her creative flair and enthusiasm into
creating a new on line magazine.

It has some lovely pictures in among interesting
articles from guest bloggers, recipes and tutorials

It's called

So if vintage is your thing then click above for a preview

and I wish her all luck in the world with her new venture.

P.S

Just want to add a big Thank You for all
the Good wishes for my Birthday and Anniversary.

Treasure trove

My Mother-in - law has had a bit of a clear out and brought me a few bits and pieces she had tucked away.
I love it when she does this.
I'm handed a plastic bag and I feel like a kid diving in to see what I've got.
I always get her old magazines.

Then there was a couple of new zips along with some lovely old lace which had a label on from Freebody and Debenhams.

I think these are great, do they still make this sort of thing?

But this is the star of the show.  M-I-L apparently did an evening class in the early 70's where she designed the pattern herself but never actually finished it.

I will have to get one of books out to look up how to do some of the stitches but I think is Fab.

talking of books, I thought that as I had all those patchwork templates that I needed a book to show me how to do it.
Well that's the excuse I used.

So off to finish my christmas swaps.

Have a great weekend.

Home again

I know I've only been gone a few days but I feel so much better . I totally relaxed, maybe a bit too much as I've overslept this morning but as I had the morning to myself who cares.
The main purpose of my trip was to help my Sister-in-law find an outfit for my nephews wedding and that mission was accomplished very successfully.

While I was away I was introduced to the newest member of the family, my great nephew Austin, who is just a few days old . Sorry I have to spoil the photo but isn't he gorgeous.

I also went to the monthly market they have in Frome.

The stalls are all small businesses mostly crafts,

I love rag rugs but I think it would take me years to complete one.

These lovely flower arrangements are in pretty vintage china .

There are a couple of great vintage shops on the Hill which I always have to visit when I go down.

I was very tempted by this boat as it would look great in my bathroom.

One of these came home with us for lunch though .

This is the first of many short breaks I have coming up in the next few weeks. Mr T and I decided not to have a big holiday this year but just to have a few days away here and there so watch this space.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A lot of the things on this stall I remember my Mum having in the sixties.

Loads of great costume jewellery.
