To the East

Mr T has had a tough couple of weeks recently and needed a bit of cheering up so we decided to go for a drive along the coast today and have a picnic.  Sod's law said that yesterdays lovely sunshine had disappeared today but we still had a great time. Instead of going West along the North Norfolk coast which is our norm, we turned the other way and headed towards the Broads and Great Yarmouth although we didn't go that far.

First stop was Horsey Wind Pump for a walk and a coffee.

Mr T was very jealous of these old Broads Cruisers, Not that he can sail.

I love the Old boat house hidden in the reeds.

You could hear the shouts and laughter of the people on the sailing boats from the footpath, It was about the only sound about.

Next time I fancy going on one of these boat trips as just walking around the edge of the broad we saw so much wildlife.  I love the sign.

These little inlets are called Staithes and are were the boats are moored. This one is at Martham our next stop, and has some lovely holidays lets right next to the water.

Here's your neighbour.

 This would be your view.

Cute  aren't they, they  came to be fed unfortunately we didn't have anything.

On to Winterton ,which is right next to Somerton,

This was here that we had our picnic(sitting in the car)
Amazing beach which is like this all the way to Great Yarmouth.
Not sure how safe it is for swimming as there was a sign saying deep water and strong currents.

Fantastic place for walking and beach combing tough. and the dunes are huge.

And go on for miles

with these tiny flowers all over them

These are the chalets at the local holiday park, aren't they fantastic.

A last look out to sea at the wind farm before turning for home.
It certainly blew the cobwebs away and cheered up my Guy at the same time.

Have a great weekend.

  2. Hi Gill
It's 5am in Australia. Just made a cup of tea. I'm at our little beach cottage as I had a Real estate deal close by until late yesterday.
Can't think of a better way to start my day than little snapshot of your part of the world. Gorgeous photos. Hope your hubby's feeling better. Great to get out and about.
We are off to Hobart today, our State Capitol City. Looking forward to spoiling our little grandchildren. Have a nice weekend.

  6. Oh I am so in awe of your pictures - what a perfect day! I do love the Broads but as a kid my brothers said there were crocs in there and I was terrified when we went on a boat! Flippin boys!

  8. I only noticed those funny little houses for the first time this summer when we visited relations staying at Winterton. They look like something Hobbits might live in!
